I've been looking at the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid Cherry MX Reds for awhile now and they have gone up in price from when I first found them. The price of the browns seem more appealing but why should I get the Browns over the reds. Oh and I hit a button changing the indent and didn't feel like switching back.

Completely up to preference.

Nobody can tell you why you should buy Browns over Reds, it's all personal taste. Personally i would prefer the Browns, becuase of the tactile feedback. But I know people who wouldn't change their Red switches for any other switch.

If you want to knwo more about the different switch types, try reading this: http://www.daskeyboard.com/blog/mechanical-keyboard-guide/

browns are for more quieter experience i believe, and they're more leaned towards typers. reds are like blues but quieter in sound and with no tactile feedback.

personally, i prefer reds as they don't need that much pressing to register a key. for reds, if you want a quieter sound, then get o-rings which reduce the sound.

Buy a Cherry MX Sampler.   Cooler master and Maxkeyboard makes one.  both will give you discounts on your KB when you buy a sampler they make and then buy thier KB.  (If you buy it direct)

don't just read about the switches.

I like MX Browns and Clears.

Browns are my favorite cherry mx switch to introduce people into mechanical keyboards, it has just enough tactile feedback to offer something that regular rubber domes don't have and it actually helps while typing.

I have only tried reds, blues, and browns, and so far my favorite is browns. I don't like reds because they lack of the tactile feels on browns and blues, however I can understand why this could be a good thing for hardcore gamers who love to double tap or something. The feeling I got from typing on blues was almost similar to typing on browns with a very slight more resistance, but what I don't like is that it can be quite loud because of the "click" noise. I mean it's already loud enough when the keys are bottoming out, plus the "click" noise is just too much for me. Some people may love it, but I'm certainly not one of those people. The browns are my favorite because I can still feel that tactile bump and it's pretty silent especially with o-rings installed. I have a Logitech G710+ which already came with o-rings installed and it is now my favorite keyboard. I also have Ducky Shine 3 with brown switches and it is definitely louder to type on because it doesn't have any o-rings installed and I also still tend to bottom out when I type. Although I said that the reds might be good for gaming, that doesn't mean that browns and blues are bad for gaming. In fact I still play CS:GO and Dota 2 with my G710+ and I don't have any problem double tapping, so you shouldn't worry about it.

I have blue, reds and browns. I prefer blues the most but get that they are loud and annoying so at home browns I feel are a lot nicer than reds, and quieter on my G710+ compared to my K95

Browns are indeed a good introduction to mechanical keyboards. They prefer a light touch, so once you get the hang of the touch typing process it might be preferable to skip the tactile feedback entirely and go with the Red switches. I can't really do typing that light, so I wish I could have started with Clears long ago. But yeah, personal preference.
