5600x3d bundle down to $269! Do I get now or pray for cheaper by Xmas?

As the Little One needs an upgrade for Ark Ascended as well as various other games, I was thinking of grabbing her a 6650XT to replace her 1070 as a great bang/buck upgrade (previous thread created).

 

Now I've been following the Greatest Store on Earth (Microcenter), and they had removed the 5600x3d bundle a few weeks ago.  But today I see it's back and another 10% cheaper!!!

 

So, all this is $269...  do I snap it up or let Black Friday and Christmas sales play out?   I do have 30 days to hold it which is swaying me very hard...

 

It would be replacing a 10600K btw.  And I do want it cuz exclusive (and yes I know it's silly).

I’d say do it now, I wish that cpu was available here, I would get it just because it is so rare..

I honestly don't think it'll drop any further since the msrp of the 5600X3D is 200 bucks the ram should be around 35 bucks if priced right and the mobo around 110 or 120 (but it's an asus tuf so probs 150) so in total it would be around 390 so I think you should snap it up

what cpu cooler do you currently have? I recommend a thermalright PA120 for an upgrade if it fits in the case

Yeah, that's the other question.  I have a 212 EVO on the 10600k, but haven't checked if it will fit the 5600x3d.  I "think" I have the additional parts still, need to find them.

I think so too, I just want it.  I'll grab it and hold it but I can't see it going cheaper, unless they do a $249 on BF to even  the price around $250.

That 212 evo should technically be fine with the 5600X3D in terms of cooling capacity but I'd just go the safe route with the thermalright PA120 SE. It's only 35 bucks too

Great thing about microcenter and Amex is if the price drops I just bring the receipt in and they refund the difference to my card.

 

So it's really a win-win .

 

Grabbing it this week.  Going to reserve it now.

With the limited stock, I think its worth jumping on it now. Better than having to compromise during the holidays when people might be itching to buy more hardware than right now.

The 212 EVO works even with the 5800x3D (tested it myself), so on a 5600x3D it should be fine.

I've always looked at it as an educational investment. I wouldn't be in the position I'm in today if I hadn't spent thousands of dollars on upgrades I didn't need. Keeps me in the loop professionally.

Yes, most coolers come with an AM4 (usually compatible with AM5) and Intel mount.

I believe so, which probably isn't worth buying to fix if you didn't keep the box. I bought mine about 1.5 years ago and it came with AM4.

 

Either of the Thermalright coolers are sufficient for the 5600x3D, either the single or dual tower. I have one of each, on an R5 7600 and i5 12400 respectively.
