yeah it only happens when i move big chunggus of GB, while im gaming its 60 low.

So you're good don't overthink about it 🙂

hello, so i got this 2 TB Lexar NM790 SSD for my laptop, it is asus tuf a15 fa506ic. and i used it for moving my data from old ssd to my new ssd. when i check it using crystaldiskinfo the temp is 69 (nice) degrees. after a few sec it became 75 degrees on HWMonitor. its a gen 4 ssd but my laptop is gen 3 ssd so the speed should be in gen 3 and its true but why the temp is so high? should i use the heatsink for it? cause there are no vent directly to the ssd.

so what should i do for now? i'm affraid that this temp might hurt it.

oh and i using the ac at 22 degrees celsius

It's a laptop so I'm not sure you can really do something apart powering some more A/C lol

If that happens only while copying several GB of data I won't worry much it's pretty exceptional use case

Temp isn;t great, and if you can use the heatsink that should help.  You're using a laptop though, and they are hot.

You are stuffing a lot of shit in a small space and making it work.  Heat is going to be produced, and sometimes lots of it.

Do the stuff... flat surface, no laps or beds or blankets, etc.  Maybe get a cooling mat or a fan stand, etc.

There's no real risk of physically damaging the SSD with temps up to 90C afaik, it'll just throttle

I even think that if it's like RAM or VRAM chips even 100C isn't dangerous 🙂

Those temps are good in the safe range for nvme ssd's, about 65-68 is the max, but if its a short time higher it should be fine
