Looking to buy a 7960x or 7970x upon release.

Budget (including currency):  8-12k

Country:  US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  Piosolver (I need a lot of cores)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Preferably a lot of ram but I do not want to buy pro series.

Release date is late november. How difficult will it be to order one online? Can I pre order anywhere?

Is singlecore important?

And how much ram do you need?

if singlecore is not important and you need a shitload of ram look at amd epyc

heres an epyc 9654 96 core 192 thread cpu for 2100$

Heres a dual socket gigabyte mz33 aro for 1500$

Heres some micron ddr5 64gb 4800 ecc sticks at 150$ each for a total of 3200$ and 1.5tb of ram (1536gb)

That leaves 3000$ for the rest of the build

No. Pre-Ordering This type of hardware generally is not a thing. Highly suggest waiting and seeing which one you exactly need.

I would like 7970x. I figure that the higher ones will sell out quicker due to industry demand by professionals. Therefore I would get a lower tier processor. Do you know if these are possibly to buy upon release or are they too high in demand?

Wow nice. I actually never thought about buying a used processor.
