Firewire to USB cable

Go to solution Solved by jaslion,

firewire to usb cables don't exist. That's just not something they can do.

The only way to do it is to get a thunderbolt 2 (yes 2) dock WITH firewire or tb2 firewire adapter and have a thunderbolt capable pc. Then convert thunderbolt 2 mini dp to usb c thunderbolt.

Or if you have a desktop add a firewire addin card.

Either way firewire to usb DOES NOT exist. They are 2 ENTIRELY different protocols and need a translation layer between them. Best it can do is charge.

So yes you have been scammed

I'm pretty sure I got scammed but when I try to connect my camera to the computer the device isn't recognized, so is there any solution or do I have to buy another thing.

What camera and what cable? I think you typically need a pci/pcie card to get firewire, and can't convert from usb easily.

I have a DCR-HC30 and this is the link to the cable:
