GPU no output

So I have a GPU that won't display an output, however I only have an AMD 5600G PC set up to test on; do you have to switch from the integrated graphics to the dedicated somehow? 

 

The iGPU works fine. dGPU does not, but the fans spin.

Sometimes motherboards won't switch to the dGPU automatically. There should be a BIOS setting to control that.

 

My last AMD board that I ran an iGPU and dGPU on was like that, I had to go into the BIOS and tell it to actually use the dGPU as a display output. Granted that was way back on FM2.

Depends on the board, the main working I remember is something like "Primary Display Adapter" though it might be something else. I know the Z170 OC Formula I've got calls it something like "Third Monitor iGPU" for whatever reason. 

 

I'd be a bit concerned if the GPU won't output any data though once you make it to an OS. Even if it's not the primary display adapter it should output something if it's plugged in.

Yeah, I kind of think it's a dead GPU. I just want to make sure before I sell it. $150 is a far cry from $450.

 

It's a B550 motherboard.

Brand matters more than the chipset, since this is one of the settings they actually get to control the name of. The "Primary Display Adapter" wording is what I remember from my X570 Master if that makes any difference, but again, it will likely be different if you've got a different board vendor. 

 

What card is it if you don't mind me asking?

Ahh gotcha. It's a Powercolor RX6800.

Dang, yeah that sucks that card is probably dead. I was going to maybe suggest trying a different BIOS revision as I have seen it where some BIOS revisions don't work with certain cards (I.E. on that X570 Master there's a revision where it just won't POST with a 1080 Ti, that took forever to troubleshoot), but that really shouldn't be an issue with an RX 6000 series card.
