4k QD OLED monitor?

Not sure if I have posted this before but I'm wondering if there are any 4k 16x9 or 16x10 QD OLED monitors out yet?

 

I've had 3x ultrawides two of which are on my desk currently and I want to switch to one 4k monitor when I finish my basement, which should be done in a month or two.

 

I have the ability to put my desk a foot and a half from the wall and mount a 55" TV to the wall but would greatly prefer a 40-42" 4k monitor on an arm.  Any rumblings of such a thing?  What would be the time of year that such a product would be available and what time of year would it be announced should I decide to wait?

I hope they have a 40+" at some point.... argh I might just have to get a woled at this rate.  That looks glorious though.  Maybe I'll just get a TV

 

Thanks a ton for the heads up!  I just don't want to go down from the stacked ultrawides I have now

I really want QD OLED but might go for an LG anyways, probably that monitor in fact

I have a 48in C2 OLED and will never go back to the sub 40in size again. Once you go big you can't go back. It really is a treat to play pc games on this thing.

What the reason you really want QD-OLED?

 

I own 49” Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED which based on new gen QD-OLED.

 

I also own 42” LG OLED Flex which based on WOLED.

 

Both is great OLED display and got it own pros and cons.

 

The WOLED is only 120hz, so sometimes it happened tearing in older games when fps over 120. This rarely could happen on the QD-OLED as that model is 240hz, very hard to gaming over 240fps.

 

But as usual LG did better in HDR in windows, it is perfection if Windows in HDR mode, totally no dull issue, this is not the case in Samsung QD-OLED as they is still slightly dull in Windows HDR Mode. Beside this due to missing of polarise in QD-OLED, it still happen a very little purplish if your environment is very bright.

 

So both got it pros and cons.

WOLED isn't as bad as many reviewers make it out to be compared to QD-OLED. Even with the lack of color volume, colors and HDR content still look amazing. These panels use tonemapping and other magic to make colors still appear saturated so you won't personally experience the washout until you have it side-by-side with a QD-OLED monitor. WOLED is still top-tier in terms of current display technologies when it comes to image quality.

 

Both QD-OLED and WOLED trade blows in different aspects of image quality. In general you can say that both are great and there is no bad choice between these two. Just be aware of the pros and cons of each technology when deciding to go QD-OLED or WOLED.

 

And so far it seems that only LG can reliably get Windows HDR sorted out correctly. All the other brands have problematic models that (even after multiple firmware updates) have issues like color washout.
