Need help finding a new SSD

So currently i have a 500gb wd blue sn 570, on the slot above the pcie x16 slot in my motherboard (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B560M-DS3H-PLUS-rev-10#kf). im using a i5-11400.

 

i am looking for a new ssd, also i it seems if i get a gen 4 drive i would have to move my current drive? i need about 1 terabyte more space and my region is australia

If you want it to operate at Gen 4 speeds, yes. If you don't care about that and it just happens to be cheaper to get a Gen 4 drive (it happens) you can run it in the other slot. 

 

What are you going to be doing with this drive, and how much are you looking to spend? Most people don't need much more than a Crucial P3 (currently $65 AUD), though if you do need something higher end I'd step up to a Crucial P5 Plus ($99 AUD)

I've got a 2TB 670P Intel drive doing mass storage on my gaming laptop, and it's fantastic, picked it up for 69.99 (nice) and would happily buy another.

that's crazy... i just checked , available in Germany for 90 bucks... seems too good to be true... whats the downside of these (there's gotta be something? lol)

ah, ok...

 

anyways i would get the 980 i linked, costs 100 aus straight, not the best drive ever, but its solid (i have one) and i dont trust Kingston,  might be better on paper , but who knows what you really get (there's no guarantee they don't use cheaper parts in what is good old Kingston tradition,  won't happen with Samsung, afaik)

don't worry, that one is OK, no changes in spec (as it's the top one, so you can't really do that, you wouldn't be able to hit the spec)

I would trust KC3000 more, then 980 (as I did see more 980 fail, then KC3000)
