Help with Dell proprietary PSU?

Hi all! Long story short, my current rig has started crashing for the first time since 2016 and I have a Dell precision Tower 5810 that's pretty beefy I was able to salvage from work.

The issue is because Dell, the 685w daughterboard coming off the back of the PSU has an 8pin (again proprietary, I tried mine) to two 6pions for the 1080 inside. It'd be Ideal for me to use my 3080 but for the life of me I cannot seem to find a compatible dell 8pin to dual 8's If anyone has an idea on how to make this work until I can build a new rig that would be great!!

I wouldn't personally run a 3080 off it.  but that is the only way you'll do it short of getting the right part from Dell

Way down at the bottom of that power supply board, there should be a second, white, 10 pin power connector.

 

Use your existing cable (part number D92C9) and an 8-pin adapter for one connector on the GPU, and use this cable plugged into that other 10-pin connector for the other:

You may have to upgrade to the 825 watt power supply though, I'm not sure. The biggest GPU I've ever put into a Precision 7810 is a GTX 1080.

The empty one in the back here? The one to the back right goes to CPU 1.

The 3080 has been running fine on my Seasonic 650w but obviously its a much higher quality PSU

They're probably about equal. The 685w power supply in my 5810 was OEM-sourced from Delta.

Yeah, Seasonic isn't always higher quality.
