Nvme sticker

Go to solution Solved by RONOTHAN##,

The sticker is usually somewhat responsible for spreading heat on the drive, so it is actually functional unlike the GPU's warranty void if removed stickers. Because of that, they likely could make the argument that it does actually void the warranty

It says that warranty void if sticker is removed is this true?

Or is the sticker the same as a gpu where they can't actually void ur warranty if u remove it

Is there a particular reason you'd like to fully remove it?

The case it's currently in has a thermal pad on it so I don't know weather or not the bare silicon chip in contact with the silicon pad would transfer heat better or if the sticker sandwiched in-between the chip and pad would

The sticker is designed to be sandwiched between the drive and thermal pad. There's a copper shim inside of it that to help it transfer heat between the pad and drive, to the point where it actually performs better to leave the sticker on. Not by much, but there is technically an advantage to the sticker being on the drive.

The sticker doesn't seem like the aluminum foil kind so idk weather or no it will transfer heat because the sticker on my ADATA XPG SX8200 pro definitely was an aluminum foil sticker

If you pull back on the sticker a little bit, what does it look like underneath?

Depends on where you live but generally, no. It does not void the warranty to remove it. They will have to meet criteria on their site and packaging to explain their warranty but it's not really enforceable even so. It's more of a deterrent. That said, it's often best not to remove it, even with cooling applied on top.

It'll be fine, Gen 3 nvme isn't that hot anyway. Even the one in my laptop is idling at 35c (Transcend S230s)

The gen4 tho, ho boy, 53c idle in laptop (P5 Plus), while the S70 Blade in my desktop idling at 56c without any heatsink.

And if you want some sort of review about it :

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post
