Unable to sort by Most Viewed or Most Replies for LTT Releases

Go to solution Solved by colonel_mortis,

We've identified the issue and flagged it to the forum software devs, but the fix is likely to be somewhat complex (and specific to the fact that there are loads of really large topics that would have been returned), so it may never actually get fixed.

Browser, version and OS:

Safari 16.5.2 and Edge 115.0.1901.203 (arm64) on MacOS 13.4.1, running on Apple M2 Pro MBP.

Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened?

Navigate to LTT Releases on the forum (https://linustechtips.com/forum/17-ltt-releases/) and then sort by either Most Viewed or Most Replies

What happened?

A loading message appears at the bottom of the screen (part of the forum, not the browser) for approx 1 second, and then the website crashes with an HTTP error 500 (generic error page in Edge, and a pure white screen on Safari, with only a "Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()" in the console)

What did you expect to happen?

To be able to view the LTT release posts sorted by most viewed or most replies.

Link to a page where it happened, if applicable:

Screenshots of the issue, if applicable:

Any other relevant details:

Problem appears to be isolated to 17-ltt-releases - couldn't replicate on any of the other parts of the forum (notably, General Discussion also works fine - I thought it might be to do with the number of posts, but it would appear not).

Issue occurs both when logged in and logged out.

If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

N/A

You can put the Direction Asc and it works fine moreover you can load every page 1-144 in Asc and 2-145 in desc only one page has the issue. If you put last reply to 90 Days its also seem to work without any problem (ASC or DESC). Maybe One thread is causing this weird issue (Threads with more replies like General or Pinned ones is loading fine so maybe)
