GPU performance has halved in a few days?

Kingslayer Kyle

Hey guys,

So I got a 7900 XT a few days ago, ran a benchmark on Cyberpunk the day I installed the new card which is this one here:

Now, here is a benchmark I have done just right now

In the few days that I've owned my new card the performance is half of what it was, nothing has changed, drivers etc

I haven't touched the hardware at all

This unexplainable loss in performance has got me really confused, any ideas?

Cheers

Unrelated, but you're pairing 9700 with 7900 XT to play CP2077, I mean my 12400 sometimes can even give my 6800 XT 100% usage in CP2077.

And we need more statistics than just game benchmarks, main culprit is usually high temps.

GPU temps are sitting at 60 through the whole thing

My 6800 XT used to had this issue where after every windows restart/shutdown, the settings in Adrenaline gets screwed, I mean really screwed. Like clock speed is lower than default, fan curve is flat at 50% at all times, etc.

Recent drivers fixed it but you never know if it does affect your particular model or not.

So, check your settings in Adrenaline.

Yeah I've already tried uninstalling the AMD software and now just have the drivers to see if that was the issue

Doesn't seem to have changed anything

I just really can't grasp the reason my performance was 2X what it was now like 2 days ago? Really confusing

Did you use DDU? And try several latest versions of WHQL drivers and see if any of them fixed your issue,

So have tried several different driver versions and have tried a clean install of Windows, now I'm just worried if it's a bad card

It just makes no sense, anyone have any more ideas?
