Memelord_69

Made my own thermal paste and…IMG_4486.thumb.jpeg.da2ad9e661be34a959f0a6562c8b388f.jpeg

even a cpu this old should idle around 25 degrees celsius not 1 right?

The thermal monitor thing isnt broken because sometimes it spikes up to around 16 degrees celsius. This is just with a crappy amd stock cooler.

It's still probably broken.

Is it going to freeze and make the die crack?

Unless you have a sub ambient cooler on it, its not reading it right. Unless you live in an ice box, then maybe.

No thermal paste is good enough to make it go below ambient temps by itself. The readings are clearly wrong.

Curious if you really made one from scratch or just bought a tub of existing paste and poured a crapton of graphite powder in it? Im considering testing with graphite powder and diamond powder just cause it seems pretty interesting and its be cool if some cheap gd900/007 can outperform a pricey thermal paste just by mixing a bunch of carbon in

I made my own. Ingredients are:

petroleum jelly or vaseline

graphite powder

sunscreen containing at least 20% zinc oxide (or just use strait zinc oxide)

Sensors are probably not accurate at low temps similar to the FX series.
