Xiaomi unveils Mi Pad,a 7. 9-inch tablet with Tegra K1 SoC (update: Engadget's hands-on video)

In today's press con in Beijing, Xiaomi showed off their new product: a tablet powered by Tegra K1 called Mi Pad

-2GB ram, 16/64GB rom

-Micro-sd supported up to 128GB

- 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera,

-Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

-6700mAh battery

Xiaomi has unveiled its first Android tablet ata press event in Beijing today. Dubbed as Xiaomi Mi Pad, the tablet comes with a 7.9-inch display, which includes 2048x1536p resolution and 326PPI.

According to the company, the tablet is powered by NVIDIA’s new Tegra K1quad-core SoC, which has been clocked at 2.2GHz. Among other specifications, MiPad packs 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, 2GBof RAM, 16/ 64GB of on-board storage, and microSD card slot. In addition, the tablet features Android 4.4.2 based MIUI6.0, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 6700mAh battery.

TheXiaomi Mi Pad will be released in multiplecolour options likePink, Green, Blue, Yellow and White and will cost 1499 yuan ($240) for 16GB version and 1699 yuan ($272) for 64GB version.

Xiaomi has stated that it will begin Mi Pad sales in China next month but only as a test run. The actual retail availabilty details are unknown right now.

actually they take the ipad mini with retina as a reference for comparsion in their press con.....

4:3 aspect ratio .... really .....

 

Awesome, isn't it? 4:3 is the only aspect ratio that actually makes sense to anyone who uses his tablet for surfing the web and reading stuff. Enough with that 16:9 nonsense.

 

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.
