Sup folks,

What's the best Virus / malware scanner out there?

I wanted to scan all my storage drives which I've collected over the years before in consolidate them to a new ones and also one of my system drives I use for browsing and various things 😮

False flagging is something that can get quite annoying.

all the big names pretty much share a common database, so false flags are fairly universal.

if you dont have anything else installed, windows defender will be active (assuming win10/11), which will immediately take action if it finds something fishy while you're moving data around.. so perhaps just skip the scanning step all together and take things as they come?

Anti virus software is useless nowadays with windows defender. As long as you have adblock for the bad ads, you pretty much will never run into them anymore.

Malware is still malwarebytes, but again if you are careful and not going on  known bad sites or downloading stuff from non trusted sources, you will never run into them.

I recommend using malwarebytes for malware ofc and perhaps idk avast because I was using it previously and Ig it was fine althoguh as someone already states you should just be cautious whrn visiting unknown sites and try not to click on sus links and pretty much that is the best defense against anything malicious. Hope this helps

Althoguh for basic virus scanning windows defender should do the trick just fine. Also the general protection provided should be fine
