Is there any official stuff from microsoft on this? I'd wait till there is official info.

Knowing microsoft there gonna be pretty slow to force windows to the cloud as there is a lot of business customers that don't want to change fast.

So, to better understand this feature:

Cloud Windows is nothing new. It is a feature that Azure customers (Businesses) could enjoy, if they need it, since a long time. It isn't designed to run your whole system, games and all of that. Now the Business solution has its market. I think it is for getting Windows on Thin Clients

This feature in the other hand, is kinda branch of the above, which is aimed to be a consumer option. Think of it, as a, you have a Chromebook like device (but running Windows... so basically a potato computer), and you want to run Windows better for a moment to do something more intensive.

So, in other words, you can switch desktops (as in the Windows desktop environment) powered locally by your Celeron or Pentium Silver (Intel Atom rebrand) laptop or whatever, to this cloud one, and now you can enjoy using Photoshop or whatever, which would otherwise be impossible. Another use case is you have trouble running a program under your ARM power Windows system as its wasn't ported for ARM64.

So no, it isn't a "You have no more Windows, everything is 100% cloud ordeal", as some of the news outlet make it sound like.

So, now, you can sleep at night (or day)
