Wait for something decent. 660Ti is almost (like 5% off) as good as a 760, which is fine for 1080P. Wait till there is a $300 card that blows yours out of the water.

Next gen gaming needs a balance between better quality and optimization.

A title with bad optimization and same generation aspects isn't next-gen but just runs like trash.

Yeah what this guy said ^, Everything else in your system is fine.

770 or 280x is a very good choice, especially if you're sticking with the 1080p monitor you're currently using

gtx 660ti to 770 is stupid. if you want to upgrade go sli or gtx 780

sli on a 660ti is a bad idea with that 192bit memory bus, especially now anyway. 780 would be great otherwise a 770/280x would be decent as well

I would wait. You're only upgrading one generation and the current gen has already been out for half a year. You've waited six months, save up the money, wait another 6 months and then upgrade.

The GTX 660 Ti is still a very viable gamer at 1080p.

I am probably going to wait for the 800 series. my card still runs every game at high/ very high settings @ 1080p and im not planning on gaming at something like 4K or something like that any time in the near future.

Hi guy's

So iwas just wondering since it got a upgrade for my CPU and Motherboard is it worth upgrading my Gtx 660ti?

I would recommend unlocking your GPU's BIOS and OC it as far as it would go and wait for 8xx series.

My pc runs a 4770k with an Asus 560ti. Waiting untill 800 to upgrade. Haven't yet found a game that Ireally need to be able to play at ultra high setting. Just Counter-strike at 1080p.

280X/770 is not a worthwhile upgrade. Either get something like a 780 or wait for new cards, a 660Ti should run everything smoothly.

What Recon said 770 or R9 280x best pick!

Isn't the performance difference a little too small? The GTX 660 Ti performs just slightly below a GTX 760, and both GTX 770 and R9 280X only perform about 20% faster on average. I'd recommend a non-reference R9 290 for a massive performance increase. Or if you can spare the cash a non-reference R9 290X or GTX 780 Ti.

Aside from that, the GTX 660 Ti is still a respectable card for 1080p gaming. Should run most titles except the really demanding ones smoothly at very high settings with modest AA and AF enabled. I think you should just wait for the next gen. I heard TSMC's 20 nm node is about to be viable soon and we should be seeing next-gen GPU architecture launches from both AMD and Nvidia before the end of the year. If you think about it, we've been on the same 28 nm node for a while now and the current mid-range to high-end cards are actually just refined, updated rehashes. lol. i.e. GTX 680 -> GTX 770. HD 7970 Ghz edition -> R9 280X

I say not worth it. my advice for you would be to keep it. upgrade it when you are not getting the fps numbers you want at your desired resolution and graphical settings.

Live your life like a dream.
