Help my Boomer Memory

Can't think of the name of a game I remember playing probably 25+ years ago and hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction. I remember very little of it and not 100% sure but I think it was on the Original Playstation, but could be wrong.

 

What I remember is its a JRPG and you go between the Light and Dark realms. I know... lots to go off of but its all I can recall.

Chrono Trigger was snes then i think ds nvm it was on ps1...

Chrono cross might actually be it. 

 

Edit: the more I see it now I remember the sword that looks like a kayak paddle now too...pretty sure this is it.
