At the moment I have one dead Alienware Aurora R8 and a new ROG laptop but feel like I want a new desktop, not 100% sure on building one from scratch partly because the BIOS scares me a bit and the whole thing of not having a tech support  warranty worries me a lot the laptop is intel with an NVIDIA gpu and I don’t really want to spend much more than $8900 New Zealand dollars

Bios are very easy to deal with especially because worst case scenario is you don't go into bios and end up running default settings which tbh o often do other than ram. Personally you only really need to turn on xmp and maybe pbo for AMD. For Intel I would just run stock settings as any overclock would result in alot of heat. Maybe undervolt if necessary but that is a bit complicated so you don't have to do that. That being said there are some reasonable prebuilts out there if you really want to go that route. I would go for ABS brand personally as they usually have the best prices and use standard parts so no proprietary bs that makes it hard to switch out parts down the line.

Can someone please tell me what the upgrading possibilities are if I bought an AMD Alienware Aurora R15 and upgraded the ram, the graphics card and the storage and maybe the AMD processor when a new one comes out I have watched a few YouTube videos on building a PC and the BIOS thing scares me a little as it goes over my level of tech knowledge

I've tried to upgrade the gpu in those multiple times, and it's a hit or miss. Manufacturers tend to lock the BIOS and other settings on prebuilts, so it can be difficult to do. What cpu and gpu do you have now? What's your budget?

This forum is literally just free tech support, you wanna solve an issue or overclock or anything like that jjust ask away

the bios is basic shit, dont let such a thing scare you cause you really cant instakill anything via bios even if you max out vcore to say 1.8v or vdimm to 2.2v, besides all you really need to do is enable xmp, enable pbo, and now you dont even have to touch the bios anymore if you choose not to

overclocking is just as basic and easy atleast for the cpu and gpu cause cpu its literally just set some values in bios and gpu is just moving sliders in msi afterburner, ram overclocking for slow speed 1:1 fclk ~3800 is laughably easy but once you start doing desync 4600+ shenanigans thats when things start to get alot harder (what makes ram oc actually interesting imo)

As for warranty all your parts will come with a warranty

With that kinda budget you may wish to just buy yourself a plane ticket to a nearby country like austrailia and buy your parts there cause new zealand prices seem to be pretty terrible, youll problably end up saving a decent chunk of money and you get to go on a little vacation too
