Looking for a new headset

Im currently using the logitech Pro x headset and im looking for a new headset. Any recommendations welcome looking to keep it under 300$

Agreed. Although the Beyerdynamic tygr 300r's are good as well.

Out of the Beyerdynamic, I'd say the 900 Pro X, not the Tygr 300, but the Tygr is Ok.

Preferably yes but im open to getting a separate mic

Maybe have a look at Steelseries Arctis Nova. If you can stretch your budget a bit I think the Audeze Maxwell is probably the best sounding headset out there right now.

Best of both worlds Rode NTH-100M

 

Only problem it has is the same problem all wired headsets have, bleed over from high volume audio into the mic.  This is due to a shared ground within the cable.  The only way to get around this issue is with a wireless headset or something that runs it's own cable like an Antlion ModMic or a standalone mic.  The Rode NTH-100 is a headphone that I swear by at any price point esp if you aren't running a dac and amp.  The added mic function is just icing on the cake because for a $40 premium you get a good added mic that attaches rather slick.  Most people don't talk about the sound bleed so don't assume it's just a Rode thing.  Granted any audio loud enough to bleed over isn't going to mean you are talking much, but myself..... I have luls in comms activity and want to crank some music.

 

This combination far exceeds the shp9500/9600 + boom mic combo that is the entry level "audiophile" headset.

 

*edit: love the SAO icon!!! I got my blind friend this wall scroll.  Sounds dumb but he likes blue because it's the color he remembers the most.  And I could tell him about it and his mom knew it was there.

thanks for the recommendation im looking at the Audeze Maxwell and i have a bigger head are these still ok with a bigger head and with directional audio for fps games

I have not tried them myself so hard for me to say anything about the size.
