Should I upgrade?

Hello! I was wondering if I should upgrade from a GTX 1060 6gb to a RTX 3050. I saw some pretty good deals for a RTX 3050 online for about 230$ish and I was wondering if it'll be a good upgrade. I was also wondering if a RTX 3050 would work on a Enermax Cyberbron 500W Power Supply, 80 PLUS Bronze, Non-Modular PSU. I have a i3-10100f as a CPU. Thanks!

Here is a video with a 10900k at 1080p.  I really don't think its worth the upgrade.  As written by @dizmo  If you don't mind buying used then you can definitely snag a decent deal on something better.

Your opinion if you SHOULD upgrade. But a 1060 6gb is essentially a 3050 without dlss (officially) and ray tracing

So no. You can defo get better gpus for the price used. get this 6600 xt NEW for the same price MSI RX 6600 XT MECH 2X 8G OC Radeon RX 6600 XT 8 GB Video Card (RX6600XT MECH2X 8GOC) - PCPartPicker

I found one 3050 for 210 (including tax), do you think that'll be a better deal? I also see some 6600's used for pretty cheap also.

no, if the 6600 (non xt) beats the 3050 (albeit tightly) then no. get either the 6600 xt or the 6700 xt i linked if you can stretch your budget a bit

210 isn't really meaningful without some kind of currency attached to it

I wouldn't get a 3050 if I was buying used, there's better options.

I wouldn't get a 3050 if I was buying used, there's better options.

I wouldn;'t buy a 3050 if I was buying new with Dizmo's money

 

OP, if you're uncertain about AMD, which it sounds like you are, the 3050 is still a pretty bad value for a card.  Do some research and compare cards in your price point.

 

You're only hurting yourself by not looking into all options.

Your PSU can handle the 3060 as well.  It's a 170w card but they say 550w.  But that's always a conservative estimate.   Your i3 isn't drawing anything at all.

 

Honestly though, what performance is the 1060 6GB giving you?  A 1070 for $110 may be something to look into as well, it's a 30% bump in performance roughly.
