Hi, I am looking for software in which I can create electronic techno like music from scratch. I dont have any instrument to hook up to my PC which is pitty as it makes music creating harder so I will just use mouse and PC keyboard. Does not matter if software is free or not. Also I would like to mention that I never done this before so if you can recommend me something in which is creating not difficuly or provide me with some tutorial recommendation.

Thanks in advance, I will check in later.

i think you'll probably give up on mouse & key music making as it starts to get impractical & irritating for you as time advances. (because i've tried it <_< ) ( unless you're that much passionate). i suggest you save up early and setup a proper build station . if you're planning for something serious, if it's for some mini adventure i think the above suggestions are good for you.

There are a heap of programmes you can run and use, I use FL Studio with a bunch of plug ins using keyboard and mouse but it does supports a lot of hardware. I think the best thing you can do is try different programmes before picking your chosen one the main ones to try are:

FL Studio (Great for beginners has great VST/VSTi support),

Reason (Propellerheads. Has a lack of VST/VSTi support and a huge learning curve),

Logic (First you'll need Apple or a VM with iOS on it),

Ableton Live (I've never tried this so can't comment sorry),

Steinberg Cubase (It's one of the oldest and it was the first to introduce VST/VSTis which everything uses now, a lot of users swear this is the best)

For me these are the main ones and while other companies like Synapse, Cakewalk and Sony have some, I feel these have more to offer if you have the patience to learn with it, but if you are starting out I would suggest FL Studio purely because of the amount of tutorials you can find on the web then you could try others when you feel more comfortable in your own abilities. But it is all personal preference I got used to FL and stuck with it as much as I would like to use Reason and Cubase when I first starting messing around with sounds and music I didn't have the patience to really learn them at the time. Which is why I'm telling you to download demos/trials of the ones you want to try failing that go on youtube and see if you can find overviews/introductions into each software.

Whatever you choose make sure you have fun, I enjoy sitting down and creating music and that's how it should be.

edit: EDM (Electronic Dance Music) can be pretty simple to make as you stated techno find a BPM around 140-160 I guess then get a kick on a simple 4 beat add a bass and a melody that's a very very simple track right there, but as said above and posted above youtube is full of tutorials and some people even give links to download the .flp (the project file) so you can look at their work and learn from it.

PS Sorry for the long post, I was in the same position about 6 years ago when I first started and I just wanted to use my experience to try help.

@ ToxicLegend: It is called OS X but yeah...

Yes I can recommend both GarageBand and Logic, but they are both for Mac...

Heard that FLStudio was good, never used it tho since I was always happy with Apple software for this.

Thanks! That's the one mind went somewhere else for that part.

Yeah I was gonna put GarageBand in there but I thought with Logic on there there was no need as GarageBand when I last tried it just let you record and mix?

FL Studio is a good place to start as I said mainly for the support it has on youtube, it's a good starting place to learn about tracks, mixing, mastering, layering, learning VST/is etc, although every software does these things in different ways it's the same thing across every software.

You just gotta find what fits you and your music style (Music style, this will mainly come down to the VST/is that you use more oftenas the software is just a starting ground now but a while ago the software depending on what genre you wanted to make too)

FL studio is good, and a lot of people use it. Watch a lot of tutorial videos on YouTube and you'll learn pretty fast. I use Ableton Live, and I personally prefer it. It is really different from FL, and they both have advantages and disadvantages. FL studio is relatively easy and fun to get into though and I think it would be the best if you're just starting out.
