So i have a i7 4770, that is 3.9ghz and 8 cores. How fast would i be able to render a 20 min 1080p video in premiere and how much would adding a gtx 760 affect the performance. if it does not affect it that much i will opt for a r9 270

so basically im asking how much cuda performance it has.

 

update: What would the performance of a i7 4770 and a 760 be vs a i7 4770 and a 270 be in premiere in terms of time to render a 20 min 1080p video

4 cores, 2 threads each - not 8 physical cores.

 

And having a GeForce card will let you render in h.264 very quickly than with a Radeon card I think - especially with no GPU.

that doesn't make it 8 cores, it just increases the efficiency of the 4 cores, and has it so that in windows it says there are 8 cores.

It's 8 virtual cores/threads. 

Any decent graphics card will easily outperform the 4770 for video encoding.

If you are running Windows, keep in mind that the Windows version of Premiere Pro CS6 still does not support OpenCL at all for GPU acceleration

In threads like this I highly recommend you put in the 30 minutes to research it so you can educate yourself without getting a direct answer because you will never know WTF to do if you're just told.

 

For premiere - Cuda still beats out OpenCL. Flat out CUDA is the way to go. This can be self-learned in a 5 minute Google session.

I think he gets it now. Anyways, yes a GTX 760 would have a higher performance because CUDA but not sure, I don't render much with my current setup. 4770K + GTX 770.

Do you expect to find any of us rendering enough vids to be able to tell you that? Just go grab a GTX 760 because it's better than a R9 270 for gaming anyway.

To be exact the "threads" concept is still misleading.  All hyperthreading is, is a 25% theoretical more efficient scheduling of executing tasks.  Basically it flows more efficient without gaps in trying to execute commands and programs.
