Ok so i think as a forum we are confused about the off topic vs general topic sections, Here is what i think they are

 

General discussion: for any tech things/ forum things 

 

Off topic: Anything non tech related doesnt have to have a point, (hey got a new dog show us)

 

It really anoys me when people say, Hey this isnt reddit, No but its off topic

 

Is this your guys understanding or am i being an idiot

There's a blurred line between what is acceptable in off topic on a tech based forum. It's up to the users to make that judgement and set the level for what is acceptable and what isn't. 

 

Off topic does not mean "everything else on the internet (sans pornography, illegal content, and advertising) that doesn't fit in a category here"

 

I don't give a shit about your relationships, life stories, what you ate today, or what tissue you wipe with. Post that somewhere else. I don't want to see it flooding my new topic feed either.
