So I was filling my build and it wasn't leaking yet, After moving the reservoir and pump combo it started to leak. Luckily my computer was turned off when it happened. Alot of water leaked into my radiator and fans. I have tested my fans and they seem to be fine and working. I have taken apart my res, pump, fans and radiator, Should I take apart the whole build? Is there anything I should do?

Thanks,

Leave it off for a couple days in a dry, warm place to let any residual moisture evaporate. Then you are fine to try filling it again, this time with more care :)

If the only thing that got wet was the rad and fans then you can dry them using a blow dryer. If any PC electrical components got wet then do not use a blow dryer. But make sure that they are 100% dry :)

Ok so I dried everything, Should I fill the loop and test it? OR should I wait 24hours?

If you are sure it is dry, build the loop outside your system and test it. When it is working with no leaks, then rebuild it inside your system.

You can test your loop inside the system anyways, even if mobo etc got wet, just turn only the pump on.

I'm so pissed off right now... The part that is leaking is the Bitspower mod top and Bitspower mod kit. SO when tseted it outside of the loop it worked with no leaks, When I rebuild the loop again and test it, it would leak. What da heck is going on...?

pump o-ring prolly got pinched or "wrapped". when installing the mod top, i

will use a film of silicone gel to lubricate the o-ring as to allow it to seal, but

not get twisted as applying the mod kit pump cover. happens a lot with D5

vario as twisting the pump to align the vario switch on the pump cap.

Where can I get this "silicone gel"? Also can you link me this problem with a fix from other sources?

So I have taken out the Bitspower top, mod, res and pump and the fans and radiator that got wet. I still have the other parts in my computer such as cpu, gpu block and radiator which still has water in them, should I try to drain it or leave it in there, as I might work on it tomorrow again...

what is left in the system is fine, just guard against movement or tipping.

drug store, supermarket, home store all have toxic-free silicone lubricant.

a 2ounce tube is plenty.

If so, Do I place the o ring in first then put the gel on top of the o ring? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions, Really pissed off.

For a second, I thought you had the same problem as me. My Bitspower pump top was leaking too, but it was leaking out of the acetal side, not the O-ring...

Ya, It wasn't the top, it was where you connect or screw the top to the mod kit area.... :/

nope, lubricant, not sealant. take a dab of lubricant on finger(s) take o-ring

and slide o-ring between fingers with lubricant. should make o-ring shiny,

not clumpy. reinstall.

Wrong, all the D5 are identical to each other, brands do not matter, only the support and warranty changes.

Well I do have the mcp655 but u don't think there is a differences.

Do you think using the mcp655 o ring instead of the bitspower might help?

Yeah that's what I was thinking about suggesting you to do - I think Swiftech pumps are just a higher quality. I mean, bitpower have good reputation for their fittings and reservoirs but for the pumps...I rarely see people buying a bitspower pump, most WC builders I met around the internet, get pumps from one of those brands - EK and Swiftech, sometimes XSPC.

If you ask me for radiators, I would say Alphacool - only because they make their rads as thick as 80mm, but if you don't have the space to put them, again EK, Swiftech and XSPC are there for you...

I know, maybe not all of you will agree with me but i have just looked at many builds and i've seen what people usually choose and rate high. It's not always about the brand, since all of them have great reputation, but it's always that some parts are bought more, reviewed better and rated higher from one brand than another.

Do you want me to share my "planned" build for this year?
