Also, and you're gonna wanna read this, the developers plan to give away the remastered version of the game, Desktop Dungeons Rewind, to everyone who owns the original. Meaning, grab this current Desktop Dungeons freebie ASAP and you'll receive the remastered of the game once it releases. It's supposed to release later today!

Well it appears that we've been scammed...

 

Here is the original news, scroll to, "To show our gratitude, we're offering an incredible surprise to those who have played and loved Desktop Dungeons. Do you want to know what it is? Are you ready for a spoiler? Then continue! We’re going to be giving away Desktop Dungeons: Rewind for FREE to everyone who owns the original Desktop Dungeons when the new game releases. Yes, you read that correctly! FREE! And to make that even easier, we've discounted Desktop Dungeons for the week leading up to the launch of Desktop Dungeons: Rewind on the 18th!

 

So thousands of people got in direct contact with the devs, including myself. And here is the runaround they gave me...

 

"Just to let you know, if you picked up the free version of Desktop Dungeons that was available earlier today, you won't be receiving a free copy of Desktop Dungeons: Rewind. This was an issue on Valve's side that has been resolved by removing the free gift for players that redeemed Desktop Dungeons during this time."

 

Also, just a few minutes ago they even went and made a completely new article in the Steam news feed to make up for their false advertisement that states...

 

"Desktop Dungeons: Rewind is out now! If you bought this version previously it should already be in your library and ready to play. You got it for free! (No, if you got this game for free, you will not get Rewind for free)."

 

How would you guys describe what they've done here?

 

BTW, just want to let y'all know, Graveyard Keeper is 80% off right now on Steam. It hasn't been at this low of a discount since 2021.
