Is this forum dying or does everyone just hate me? For the last two posts I posted I got zero responses, thats not normal.

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2

Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).

I love Photography (Using a Canon 60D)

Love F1, my favourite team is Ferrari and my favourite driver is Leclerc

The forums not dying you just made two kinda lackluster posts in a row.

You asked about VR headsets in the “Displays” sub forum, and honestly everything you asked you could just google.

Whats the difference between the quest 1 and 2? I don’t know, I would literally just google it and provide you the information but then, why would I do that? People are happy to help but if you’re not doing the bare minimum on your end they won’t really feel any obligation to help.

And then your other post is another self explanatory issue. It’s far too vague with the description of the issue to reliably provide information on what to do or troubleshoot. From what happened it could be a large variety of problems in play and the amount of people who know how and would want to sit down and babysit a post like that going through the troubleshooting is very small. There’s so many possible things to try and narrow down the problem that it’s time consuming. It’s why there’s common guides on handling a lot of basic issues and troubleshooting steps, so you can enter a forum like this and request help on something while already having done a lot of the basic steps to rule out common situations.

People will be more interested in a narrowed down problem they can try and solve, than stating from “my gpu is slow after I poked it”.

But it wasnt the GPU. It wasn't anything I have seen before. The fans went overdrive the GPU didnt display anything and after a restarrt it was slow.

I wouldn't say the MOTF incident was the LAST nail on the coffin but it was an important one for sure.

The Moderators On The Forum thread was apparently wiped from existence recently. Unfortunately that's all I know about it, I haven't logged in for ages

Huh... you're right, it does appear to be missing. I wonder why? Last time I saw it, it was locked and the Mods were having fun posting in it still (you know, mod powers). Seemed harmless to me.

But it's possible maybe some users started to attack the mods in that thread? I've seen the occasional user take moderation targeted to them way too personally before.

Yep, that sounds plausible. I tried checking the Internet Archive to see if anyone saved the last few pages before they got rid of it, but unfortunately I could only find the first page. This is all still a mystery to me

It would be really surprising since it’s usually the same core group that comments on that thread as well. So it must’ve been a substantial and sudden fall out.

The main reason was due to all the spam. It was no longer producing anything resembling even a semi coherent conversation beyond people spamming. This is why it is no longer viewable to you guys.

Last page was mods posting cat pictures, then someone saying "hey look it's unlocked" and then I posted that gif of "in before the lock" and it disappeared.

As the mod said, it was very incoherent.

Mostly just a copy of the "random chit chat" thread with occasional mod questions and then mods messing around with all the fancy tools they can utilize.
