Any recommendations for a gaming/office chair in the £200-250 range?

Ezzy-525

I've started working from home so my company has offered £300 for any chair/desk items we may need.

I already have a pretty standard off brand "gaming chair" which realistically does me just fine. Although sometimes it's a little uncomfortable for hours on end.

So my question is...does anyone have any recommendations for a gaming/office chair for around £200-250 and the same again for a standing desk if possible? (I'll make up the difference myself but seems silly not to get something new with £300 on offer).

To get into a halfway decent standing desk, you'll need to pony up a little more - for example, if you're ok scraping the bottom of the barrel, IKEA does a hand-crank standing desk for ~200 but if you want to get into something okay with a motor in each leg and a decent size, you'll be closer to 400-500 (IKEA Bekant). Chairs, again IKEA's got some decent ones but this is one where I paid for a used Herman Miller Aeron and it is genuinely a gamechanger. HOURS with no sitbone pain whatsoever thanks to the mesh seat. Most cities will have used office furniture sellers or Facebook Marketplace listings with some options (Steelcase is another popular option)

Thanks both @filpo& @seanondemand for your recommendations!

The £300 is the company contribution so I don't mind adding 2-300 of my own to top up and get something decent. But that would be between both chair and desk.

The Corsair chair is a good contender to start with.

for the desk with the remaining about 200 pounds (about). I would go with this one from flexispot (only name brand i could find under 200) https://www.amazon.co.uk/FLEXISPOT-Adjustable-Electric-Standing-Two-Stage/dp/B08D3JDJGK/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2MZWSXGLKJ796&keywords=standing+desk&qid=1681583397&sprefix=standing+desk%2Caps%2C128&sr=8-6

I have 3 chair recommendations:

1. The IKEA Markus was always quite nice when I had it. 170 quid and a 10 year warranty. Plus you can get it same-day if you live near one. If you have a Costco membership, check there too! They usually have some good chairs which won't break the bank. https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/markus-office-chair-vissle-dark-grey-30261152/

2. If you're wanting something a bit more pricey, SecretLab I believe are quite good. I think they're in the £350 price area.

3. If you're wanting to flex on all of us, Herman Miller. £1kidney

Also I'm not sure if you're looking for a sit/stand desk. I have a few options if you are.

VonHaus have a sit stand desk frame with adjustable controls for £220, from their website directly.  Get a nice worksurface from IKEA for 50 quid and you have a lovely sit/stand for £270. I did that, no regrets. https://www.vonhaus.com/vh_en/home-office/sit-stand-desks

Herman Miller also have some sit stands for a pretty reasonable price on their website too. I think starting from around £380, if you want some plug sockets built into the desk (to charge a laptop or something), they have an option for £450 https://ukstore.hermanmiller.com/products/jarvis-bamboo-desk-1200?variant=42330380075161
