Im using 2 R9 290s and a 4670k and my cpu usage is 60% and 30fps on ultra

Are you using the Mantle API?

No im using D3D

I know this is a bit off topic, but as a crossfire user, do you run into many issues, like microstuttering, general poor performance with certain games, or anything like that often?

30 fps on ultra (assuming 1080p) with 2 R9 290's is not normal.

sorry i didnt notice the 30 fps thats not normal

mantle, happens to all amd cards instead of trying to push everything out of the card it uses just enough so you get steady frame-rates at playable fps. 

Try disable mantle if that's possible.

nvm I tried with out CF and i get 90fps

No (user of two 290x's)

On topic: check crossfire is enabled. But TBH one 290 is more than enough to ultra BF4 @ 60fps using D3D/Mantle
