Does NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 12 GB support my motherboard ?

That card will work with your board, but it will be limited to PCI Express 3.0 speeds. What resolution are you looking to run? what is your processor and current GPU? There is a good chance that your current CPU will bottleneck a 3060, but it will probably be a decent jump in FPS until you can upgrade everything else.

I'm going to purchase NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 12 GB does it support on my motherboard gigabyte b85m-d3h-a ?

Here is the spec of my motherboard

Expansion Slots
  1. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)
    * For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
(The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)
  2. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
(The PCI Express x1 slot conforms to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)
  3. 2 x PCI slots

Graphics card Spec

  • 1792 MHzClock Speed
  • Chipset: NVIDIA
  • BUS Standard: PCI-E 4.0 X16
  • Graphics Engine: GEFORCE RTX 3060 TWIN X2
  • Memory Interface 192 bit

Your quickest response are appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for your response. I'll run resolution at 1080p. It's not for gaming it's for stable diffusion.

Processor i7 4790k

Ram DDR3 8 GB

SSD for OS

I have no dedicated GPU. This will be my first ever GPU in my entire life. Does bottleneck affect stable diffusion ?

Not at all Stable Diffusion only uses the GPU

Pcie gen3 won't be an issue neither it's only on very high end cards

  • 2 months later...

Did you end up running your RTX 3060 on a PCIE 3.0 slot with Stable Diffusion?  Any issues?
