*HELP Malware

Pumim

Hi guys,

I recieved some malware and im not sure im free of it yet?

I downloaded malwarebytes to try and remove it, but it doesnt find anything when I scan it, though windows says quarantine failed.

I spoke to support from NZXT and they say their downloads doesnt come as a ZIP, but as a .exe.

Anybody that can help?

try downloading Malwarebytes

I did already delete it. Both Avast anti virus and Malwarebytes doesn't find any threats. Windows does keep coming up with this message about the trojan /.zip file saying quarantine failed

If you can not run an AV software, prepare a bootable USB from one of them... Malwarebytes, Kaspersky and more are offering tools to create a bootable USB to disinfect a system that is "too" infected

I just factory reset the PC. Reinstalled windows from cloud. Windows doesn't detect anything now, but would it detect malware on BIOS or the GPU ?

How often does the malware infect BIOS / GPU ?

I wouldn't worry about this, altough i would definitely make sure that your bios is up to date, since especially older motherboards, have had many updates for things like malware.

Even if you have a newer motherboard, i would personally always update the bios for things like these, aswell as performance.

Press the Windows key +X and choose Apps and Features. See if NSXT is installed, if so, Uninstall it

Browse to C:\Users\kpumi\Downloads\ and Delete NSXT-CAM-Setup.zip

On another internet device, download the Cam driver https://nzxt.com/software/cam

Also, you do not need Avast Anti-Virus or any other AV software, not including Malwarebytes, which is for Malware. Windows Security works  just as well and is included with Windows. We suggest you uninstall Avast using the Avast Clear Utility

Please click the "Thumbs Up" on any volunteer's post to thank them if they helped .(lower left, just to the right of My Computer )
