I reset my bios settings and now it will not boot to the proper storage device

Long story short I had to reset my bios settings, in doing so it reset my boot drive. Now I can't select the correct boot drive and have to go to "boot override" every time I boot my computer up for it to boot to windows properly. For my selection of boot drives it gives me windows boot manager and two SATA connected drives which both do not boot to windows. How do I make it so I have the option to select the right boot drive and do not have to go into my bios and do a boot override every time I turn on my computer? Also why is my labeling my storage devices 1, 5 and 6 when I only have 3 storage devices? 5 is the correct boot drive which I would like to select.

it labels them as 1 5 and 6 because those are the ports the drives are plugged into.

also the second screenshot looks like you can select it there... does it not remember that?

It does not boot to that when I select it oddly enough. And it says "windows boot manager" in that drop down box but not in the override section.

Take out the windows boot manager, so SATA6G_5: WDC WD10EZEX-00BN5A0, the one my mouse is hovering over in the first picture.

That's the wrong one....

That one is the Legacy BIOS boot option.

For the UEFI option choose what i marked in the image:

is it mbr still?.. it will only come up as legacy then.. it needs to be changed to gpt.

google  change mbr2gpt

and turn off legacy or csm boot.  should only need uefi for what you want.

wouldn't disabling legacy boot entirely fix this then?

mbr still needs to be converted to GPT.  as uefi don't support mbr..

if he's trying to boot win 10.. mbr and legacy should boot..

since the boot manager is legacy i would assume a win10 install. but not all information is shared here. he should disable uefi and boot csm mode with the mbr disk. to get boot it.

if he's trying to boot windows 11..  GPT is only way to get it to boot. as it don't support mbr or legacy for secure boot.

There is already a UEFI boot option it's just that OP didn't select that option, that's all...

Doesn't seem like a GPT, MBR issue.

Also Windows 7 also supports UEFI and GPT

well.. since the bootmanager was legacy.. i would assume it's mbr.

it's basicaly a trial and error.. first only uefi.. if it don't boot.. only csm.. one of them should get it up and running if it used to run like that.

It isn't and never was.

Windows Boot Manager is always a UEFI boot entry.

Does it boot loop to the repair thingy or does it actually do anything?

That means that Windows got corrupted, you will have to reinstall windows.

Can windows be corrupted and still boot at the same time? Cause I can still get it to boot and everything works fine. I just have to do the boot override every time
