AX1500i 80+ TITANIUM

Sonefiler

so... Titanium is a thing now with Corsair. Finally a larger wattage PSU from Corsair than 1200 too. Yay! http://www.corsair.com/en-us/ax1500i-digital-atx-power-supply-1500-watt-fully-modular-psu

Pretty damn expensive, but what 1500+W power supply isnt? :D

For comparison, Coolermaster's 1500W power supply is 80+ silver, and although it's currently on discount, it's usually $500.

Titanium was a thing with the release of Delta's own Titanium server PSU, and one afterwards with Super Flower. But yeah, AX1500i is the first retail unit that the consumer can buy. Here's a review on it. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=378

The Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1500w is <$400. I'm pretty sure the MSRP isn't over $400 either. There are other 1500w units that are in the $300-$350 price range as well, such as the Lepa G1600, Silverstone Strider 1500,  Rosewill Hercules 1600w, Coolmax ZPS-1600B (same unit at the Rosewill internally).

They aren't titanium though :)

Yeah, so wasn't the CM 1500w. I was providing more examples along with yours.

It's a 2% improvement over platinum for desktop PSUs. http://www.plugloadsolutions.com/80pluspowersupplies.aspx#

Quite honestly, spending up to $100-$150 for solely a Titanium unit isn't much of a selling point to me, but rather the build quality, performance (electrically), and feature set of this Flextronics unit is something that other 1600w aren't able to touch. You should read that review I had posted. I still find it to be a bit pricey though.

Time to upgrade my AX1200 I guess.

For a 480 & 3770? You'd be better off "downgrading" to a semi-passive 550w psu
