What's the best Backlit mechanical keyboard?

JBNFGamer

Hello folks!

I have made some changes to my room to make it a bit more dark, because i could see light on my monitor *wich is extremely annoying*. wich worked, because it's extremely dark over day.

But now it's so dark, i can't even see my keys.

But back on topic, what's the best backlit mechanical gaming keyboard (2013-2014)?

I've heard corsair is planning to release an "RGB backlit mechanical keyboard" wich looks verry nice, and i would've bought it but it's not released yet.

(i believe it will arrive mid 2014).

But apart from that keyboard,

are there any other good backlit haming keyboards??

((Additional: Corsair RGB backlit mechanical keyboard))

PS: I'm new, so go easy on me :D

~JBNFGamer

Cheers!

It depends a lot on what you are looking for. Do you want a full size keyboard? media keys? switch type?

But my money are on the Ducky Shine 3, Corsair K95, Logitech G710+ and the CM Storm Quickfire Ultimate.

A mechanical keyboard, is not just a mechanical keyboard. The feel of the keyboard is determined by the type of switch the manufacture is using for the keys.

I would recommend giving this a look: http://www.daskeyboard.com/blog/mechanical-keyboard-guide/

It explains the difference between the most common switch types. However, the best way to get a feel for the different switches is to either buy a sampler kit or go to a store to try them out.

There really isn't "a best". Mechs are heavily dependent on your preference of switch and which skew within that switch. There aren't just Cherry MX switches and this is especially true since their patent expiration. But let's just stick to Cherry keys since they are the most popular. I recommend looking up which colour switch that would suit you and from there which keyboards have a solid build quality and then you can think about back lighting.

Welcome to the forum! Currently Corsair is the only one that's making an RGB mechanical keyboard with changeable colors but it's not released yet.

Here's other great keyboards: Ducky Shine 3, Corsair K70, Corsair K95, Logitech G710+, and all CoolerMaster mechanical keyboards.

I just picked up a Duck Shine 3 and it is the coolest keyboard you can get in my opinion. Not just the fact that the lighting options are limitless, but you can pick up any colored LED, and you can pick any switch you want. I have a white LED keyboard, which is pretty rare in mechanical keyboards since the main options are red , blue and green.

Take a look at the lighting:

I forgot, take it from the main man himself!

Loving my G710+ but there is no best, just what you feel is right for you. Do you value price? aesthetics? build quality? feeling of materials? certain key switches? colours? leds? plain looking? screens? tilt? wrist rest included?

So many things to consider. At the end of the day, it is a keyboard, you can type on it. Although I do love mechanical keyboards and prefer them over the alternatives, I can still do a really good job on membrane keyboards (as long as they are not like £3 bargain bin ones)
