Paying for 4K Video is DUMB

Plouffe

I think they are using the highend cards to train the AI further, and the lowend cards just make use of it.

But seriously, stop advertising AI upscaling, it still sucks. DLSS still sucks and VSR also does, If you just look a bit for artifacts, they are there and they are very bad.

At 6:30, he stated that he needed to use a new NF account, which isn't true. If you watch using Chrome, the maximum resolution you can get because of how DRM is handled is 1080p for both Netflix and Amazon Prime. For sites like Disney+ (and many more), the maximum resolution is even only 720p.

So yeah NF 4k is indeed useless if you only watch from your browser/pc.

I actually really like VSR in some use cases. I mainly use a 1440p monitor and absolutely love the way 1080p streamed video looks upscaled to 1440p on it. It really reduces the distracting compression artifacts, and since it's working off a decent amount of data it's not too bad with the upscaling artifacts. I mainly notice imperfections on solid backgrounds and soft focus, but most video is CRISP.
