  1. I would just try it with the cheap adapter, like I said they are electrically almost identical, dual link just uses twice the TMDS channels, as long as the GPU doesn't refuse to push the data at higher frequency there will be no problem. Also I absolutly wouldn't get an adapter with a processor that merges the TMDS signals because the OP will probably game on his 144HZ tripple Monitor setup and those adapters will completly dump your latency and therefore synchronisation.
  2. AFAIK HDMI and DVI is electrically identical, adapter are just a cable with two different plugs on either end, theoretical you can DIY one out of two cables. DVI is just missing a few pins like Audio and Ethernet. Also the twist of the wires is different and the shielding, like with CAT5 and CAT7. DVI is missing the data pin for the Handshake HDMI does for DRM and all that stuff. But I don't see why he shouldn't just buy a cheapo adapter and set up the refresh rate with a custom resolution. Edit: Should do the trick: https://www.amazon.ca/DVI-D-HDMI-Video-Cable-Dual/dp/B
  3. You need a Dual Link DVI-D Cable or Adapter to HDMI to get this working but there will be some luck involved. EDIT: you also have to find out if your DVI Out is even Dual Link DVI-D capable.
  4. I will get a Ryzen 5950X tomorrow. Mainboard is an ASUS X570-F Gaming GPU is an RTX 3090 The BluRay Drive is an ASUS BW-16D1HT 5m HDMI 2.1 Cable TV is a Samsung QE82Q60R And in between is hopefully soon a Marantz AV7706 if I saved some more money and when those issues with HDMI 2.1 are sorted out. Is it even possible to playback 4k HDR on Ryzen?
  5. Hello, I will finally get the last piece of hardware for my new gaming PC tomorrow. I got an Asus BluRay drive and also ordered LotR 4k. I used to play BluRays on my PS4 but I sold it. Now I want to be prepared to watch my Movies on PC. What Software do I need to play a 4K HDR with a Windows PC on my Samsung TV?
  6. I think the K55 is rubber dome? Usaly there is a little leaver under the space bar to stabilice it, and one or two little springs to bring it back up, this can be quite tricky to assamble, sometimes it helps to pull out the keys above to space bar carfully to get better acces. The leaver acts as a little hinge it must be atteched to the litte nobs in the keyboard itself and also to the little nobs on the key itself, like I saif can be quite tricky...
  7. Just like Chris said, go with B550, get cheaper Windows, also I wouldn't buy those case fans. And if you can wait a few months go for a 5600X and a 3060Ti maybe...
  8. 1) Unraid will never get you the same performance and stability then you have directly on a machine. Also it's a MUST to run Network Cables to all your "acces points". I allready tried a similar setup once for VR gaming in another room and it was a terrible expreince. Allthough Unraid is very easy to set up you don't really need to be an IT expert for that- 2) You would at absolut minimum need an 8 Core CPU and 16Gigs of RAM to run one usable gaming machine and are allready leaving performance on the table. 3) I don't see another way then unraid since I think it's the o
  9. So I tried it with the 850W PSU, no effect at all (like I thought). The problem seems to be mostly the tripple monitor setup, when I just run FullHD I get allmost 100fps and 99% GPU Usage (even the GPU doesn't boost as high, as it does in other Games), but also have that effect a little, that when I move the camera ingame, GPU usage and FPS drops. I gues I will just wait till all my other hardware arrives and play on the other PC in 4K. I don't have too high hopes to get such issues fixed for such an old game.
  10. None of my threads is fully uilized when I am ingame, so I think it can't be a CPU bottleneck?
  11. ... EVGA 650GQ, but just for your happienes, I can try to hook up a Corsair TX850
  12. Hello, I made a console thread a few days ago about the witcher 3, since I watched my dad playing that game I while now, I wanted to play it myself again. Optimistic as I am I downloaded a mod list from one of does beatiful YouTube Videos and packed it all into my game folder. Started up the game and it was a great disapointment, not just that it looks much worse then those videos but also 5-10fps!!!! So I deinstalled the game downloaded it again, and fired it up vanilla and it was a disapointment again... The game runs about 45fps 60% GPU Usage (vanilla maxed o
  13. No I allready found out, that's just what that game looks on an XBox One X... Helps a little to set display settings on the XBox to 1440p even if the TV doesn't support it.
  14. Hello, Is there anyway to make Witcher III look better one the One X, bought it my father for christmas, the game still looks stunning in 4k on my PC. He is playing on a 1080p TV so it doesn't change anything to set the game to 4k mode. But this is absolutly unaccaptable, the game might even look better on his 12 year old Office PC... Can't I just force the console to render higher resolution or does he need to get a 4k TV now?
  15. Hello, I read everywhere about how much power the 3090 needs. But since my CPU hasen't arrived yet, mine is in my girfriends rig at the time. The PC is equiped with a 3700X, 2 Sata drives, an M.2, 32Gigs of Ram and a whole lot of RGB and fans. All that running off a 650W EVGA PSU. And guess what, without a single problem. It takes about 30min of Stress Test (prime95+FurMark) to get the fan even spinning. Under full load the whole system sucks about 600W from the wall under full load. And it did never crash so far. So what is this all about, PSU marketing? Or
  16. Hello, I have an old XBox Wireless Adapter Model 1713, yesterday I did a fresh install of the newest Windows and now the Adapter stoped working, on my two other PCs it still works. I allready tried the the Fix you can find on Google on the iFixit Website, but it didn't work, somehow it made it worse because now the divice is detected but with a wrong driver. Before it was just missdetected. When I look up the device manager on the two other PCs, the driver is integrated in Windows, in the rassstp.sys . I can't just replace that file since Windows seems to need it, ev
  17. Hello, I want to switch my Motherboard, but have BIOS Raid Config on my old one. Can I just replace thr board switch on raid and the accual raid information is stored on the drives. Or is the Raid config stored on the Mainboard and I will loose my data then?
  18. I allready hit the Power Limit on Air an there lays an EKWB in my Kitchen, which I will not really benefit from, because the card hit 375W like nothing and then you're stuck at 1980MHz max. The best BIOS which works on my card would be from a Gigabyte card with 390W limit but I don't think those 15W will make the difference.
  19. Hello guys, I am testing through my 3090 TUF at the moment and nomatter what I do, I allways hit the power limit at about 2030MHz and I am affraif that a waterblock will not have any benefit for that card, because it will also hit the power limit... Now I am sitting here looking at the Hexdumps of the VBIOS, just a flash isn't really an option because the only card with two 8pins and higher power limit (390W) is some gigabyte one and I don't think those 20W will give me that extreme performance boost. The Hexdumps are crypted you can find easy things like BIOS Number, Rev
  20. Maybe your fan speed is too low, I've experienced that with some artic fans once, as soon as the PWM signal went under 5% Speed they ramped up to 100% don't know why but some fans seem to do that. Also maybe your fan tacho signal is bad, can be because of EMF or defective fans, when your motherboard notices some akward fans speed it tries to compensate that somehow.
  21. Both Pumps are originally designed by the German industrial pump manufacturer LAING, and mostly just rebranded they come from hungary these days. The D5 is the higher flow rate lower preasure variant. The DDC is the lower flow rate high preasure varaint. Some tests accually show that a CPU and GPU block with a Rad in series is enough that the DDC has a higher flow rate from 0-100% Speed. The DDC runs a bit hotter and a bit louder but that isn't a Problem at all. The original DDC 1T+ (PWM) in my system is deadly silent running at 30% speed most of the time up to 100% under f
  22. I have a Core2Quad q9550 that's still in use as a HTPC. But the main machines for me and my girlfriend are Ryzen 3700X and Ryzen 5950X currently waiting for the CPU to arrive. Also horting all my old hardware from a C64 over Atari SD old Atholn, old Core2Due, old pentium up to my FX8350 wich was still in use a few weeks ago
  23. In my opinion with that list of parts you can't do anything usefull but mining. The CPUs are crap, the GPUs are outdated for gaming. THE PSUs are overpowered for any normal use and the RAMs have too much capacity. I would put some some i7 6700s on those boards maybe give two machines 32Gigs of RAM even if it's overkill, sell 12 GPUs, sell the PSUs and sell the crapy CPUs, then get some addidional parts cases etc. and you got 3 decent mid range gaming PCs.
  24. You could just try and get a Big Navi Card in your Budget, if you get one and the benchmarks are bad you can allways return it or resell.
