After checking out my twitter I saw Whaler_99 retweet a tweet from Folding@Home that AMD has updated their graphic drivers to give a 5-10% boost in F@H.

looks like I should update my graphic drivers.

We’re excited to announce that AMD has recently updated their GPU drivers from version 13.x series to 14.x series.  Version 14.x includes updated OpenCL code that helps Folding@home run faster on GPUs (using fahcore_17).  This results in a 5-10% improvement in performance. This should result in more points for some of the AMD GPU users.  The 14.4 drivers are available both for Windows and Linux.

So AMD doesn't want to be known as a mining company, but as a F@H Company? Seems legit. I mean yes, F@H is for the better cause, but it's the same principle.

I don't think that AMD is trying to be like that, since it says that AMD has updated their OpenCL code, AMD using OpenCL when folding on the GPU so it would make sense that it would get an increase in performance.

So they didn't do it just for Folding? Well then I'm fine with that :P

Actually though, either way, more folding powa= more betta

I thought this was going to be a boost to their CPU's folding abilities. xD That would have been nice.
