1PC - 3 workstations?

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 

 

Where do I start or how to explain... I want to separate 3 things:

1) Gaming

2) Browsing (100+Tabs) + Twitch and watching other video stuff

3) Work (MS Office stuff)

 

I want to build a new PC soon and I am wondering if with some form of virtualization I can make this work on one set of hardware.

I am looking for some guidance on choice of hardware and feedback and information about how I could set up something like mention above or some other ideas.

 

Generally, I am Intel and Nvidia and was looking at i5 13600k or i7 13700k and a 4070TI and 32 or 64GB DDR5.

 

So, am I crazy or something that can be done and make sense?

1) You will have significant hypervisor expenses.

2) vGPU setup on RTX40xx series cards may not be available yet (I havent bothered to check it)

3) This is always more hassle than its worth.

 

I highly recommend building 3 separate PCs.

Do you want to have 3 users at the same time on this system?

 

If this is just different use cases, you can just install all there aps on one pc.

Or dual-boot two Windows installations, one for work and one for play.

I don't know how sophisticated you want to get, but I suggest you might want to have a look at hyper-v (or virtual box).   The easiest way would be to run your gaming setup as a host on windows pro... then run VMs for your browsing and work.

 

This would allow you to run the 3 VMs at once and be able to easily interact with all 3 with one set of monitor/keyboard/mouse.

OK. Maybe just VMs for the 2 low resource instances ( 2. and 3.).
