so recently for a 1440p gaming rig for someone in Australia i chose a intel arc A750 over a 6700(non xt) and/or 3060.

the A750 was $350, 3060 was $500, 6700 was $550 and the best equivalent price GPU was a 1660 super and a 6600(non xt).

its well known that the card's drivers have matured rapidly over the last few months but still i wanted to ask...

EDIT:

this is the thread-

Yes< I think you made a mistake.  The drivers aren't there yet, and while they've gotten better, they can't be considered ready for Prime Time (tm).

I think they'll keep getting better, and hopefully you have a decent experience that only improves.

I also don't see any of the cards you listed as 1440p cards.  Maybe in eSports?

but are they good enough to beat the 6600 non XT? i mean it will for sure loose to the 6700 but the only alternate was the 6600

Looks like it swaps blows, beats it in some loses in others. Probably its closest equivalent most likely.

@Dedayog, that video is 3 months old so most likely intel now wins so I'm right Hehe

edit:

wait a min, the intel card wins in most cases anyways so what was the point? its outdated already and intel still wins anyways

Uhm sure.  Definitely.  Intel for the win 🙂

Small note:  Those are 1080p results. You'll have to cut back some settings for 1440p.

6700xt is price to performance 1440p king, intel arc with new drivers are pretty good price for 1080p, not 1440p however, will be a bit wonky, i actually plan on getting one of the arc gpus for streaming and stuff, but i wont reccomend it for gaming at higher than 1080p for now

It's a lot better but it's still not a card I would recommend as it still isn't fully stable, the software is still quite far behind and a lot of features are still not there yet.

Streaming isn't possible on these cards atm as av1 encoding isn't supported by platforms as of now.

honestly i think while not perfect and there will be some issues ,for the price a 750/770, preferably with 16gb, is a good option  - it plays games at reasonable performance...

Streaming / recording seems currently not working properly or at all though.

in  your country maybe but the 6700xt was DOUBLE the price of the A750in Australia

this will be the case for all GPUs so net really a problem but on the plus side, intel loses less performance while compared to AMD or NVidia because of their superior memory config.

even without AV1, intel's H265 and H264 encoders are the best on the market but this is also i added a intel system and not a AMD one so that the streaming software can run on the CPU E-cores while intel gets their stuff together. but in comparison to a 6600, i think i am still right because this might go a long way.

intel's XeSS is better than FSR 2.3 while running on ark GPUs and FSR can be turned on even on ark so not a problem

If you knew all this, why the original question?

Seems more like an Intel infomercial than anything.

Not sure it's entirely accurate.  Superior memory config?  XeSS better than FSR 2.3?  Best encoders?

Might be but you make it sound like proven lackluster a750 is probably the best GPU out there.

k i wasn't TRYING to sound like that and i just checked, the intel encoders are best only when IGPUs are the topic so sorry about that.

yes, when running on intel ARK hardware XeSS is better than FSR 2.3 because it has dedicated silicon to run on unlike FSR which does not

and its not that hard to see, the intel A750 has a memory config similar to that RTX 3070 so its FAST

i was just trying to see what criticism comes my way when i try to defend the ark GPU because the guy i was making the list for wanted to play in 1440p and the 6600 is the GPU pc game devs are currently targeting cuz its $200 and its a sum small enough that they will say that just get a new GPU so the only option was the ark A750 which might have made me sound like you said i sounded like😅

I can get behind that.  And yes, it did read somewhat like you bought a 750 and set us up 🙂

i was just trying to see what criticism comes my way when i try to defend the ark GPU because the guy i was making the list for wanted to play in 1440p and the 6600 is the GPU pc game devs are currently targeting cuz its $200 and its a sum small enough that they will say that just get a new GPU so the only option was the ark A750 which might have made me sound like you said i sounded like😅

Well, IMHO, it depends on how Intel will do their due diligence from this day forward.

Meaning, new games will come out, new softwares that people want to use will come out, whether or not Intel would configure their drivers so that users able to enjoy their card with the game/software they wanna use in a timely manner, only Intel knows I'm afraid. So far... I can't say I am impressed.

If you are happy with yours, good.

For sure it won't be a card I'd recommend to someone at this point in time, especially not for someone who are new to PC world. A trauma due to troubles may last years. (I do still have some bit of my ATI Radeon trauma up to this day).

And yes, I do have a friend who still refuse to build desktop PCs due to unending PC troubles he had 15 years ago. Even after I offered him my eternal assistance. Long story short : He went to a store, the store built him a system based on his budget, the PC kept having problems even after replacing nearly all the parts with a new one.

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post
