They don't make sound form what i know they are intended to be mounted on a couch bottom or a chair and give u a shake while you sit but they might make sound on come surfaces. Also I think you just wire them to an amp like a normal speaker.

I'm guessing it's somewhat like analog vibrating controllers in console's gamepad. I remember using perhaps the more relevant application, the 'shaker' is built in in an IEM: http://ifeelu.co.kr/eng/html/sub02_02_7.html

Basically the same, when low frequencies are present, the IEM unit will vibrate a little. It's supposed to vibrate the sensitive bones around our ear hole, to give the sensation of a 'boomy and rattling' bass. It's quite good, but the volume and vibration controller were bad, and the first to give up.

the thing I was thinking about was something out of a 90's era comic book or Nintendo Power magazine of that age. sad that something like that is still in development

a shaker seat would be a nice toy to augment an already good system but would be very odd and clumsy on its own.

gotta say, this Linus guy is a joker. just got done watching his new video on what cpu tp buy. near the end he says 'if you have a quaestion head on over to our forums, we have a great bunch of guys that will help you with your questions"............. how many of you actually helped? or should i say how many actually stayed on topic. if you don't have these or if you can't stay on topic, why respond at all. just replying to have something to do for 1 minute of your life is no help. replying to a thread just so someone knows you're alive is no help. i can appreciate opinions but some of you are way off track. i guess you get what you pay for..??

by the way........... this isn't about sub woofers. I have those. this is about something different.

Lol what? They already answered your question. It's a waste of money. As a side note, those long periods are annoying. Just taking up space.

They shake...that's what they do. Look at installation guides if you want to know how to install them. Just find one on the manufacture's website and look for the installation guide.

Like NB said above, it shakes in the rhythm/along with the low frequencies (bass), supposedly to give more immersive feeling, especially in movies and games. How well they perform, or worth the effort or not, is entirely subjective. Some people may like it, others might hate it to death. Personally, although I've never tried one, I would go for 'I wouldn't mind if somebody give me one, but to shell out extra $$, I'd think, and rethink, and rethink....'

I've thought about setting one up on my desk chair, but everytime I think about it I think it would be too much money to set up and to much of a hassle to always have a cord attached to my chair.

Will work for electronic components and parts
