Should I upgrade or no?

Go to solution Solved by mr cheese,

At worst, give it another year or year and a half for the next product cycle. a 2080 Super and 11400f are not lagging enough to hold you back right now.

Good build. Keep it, save your money for a future killer rig.

My current pc setup is:

intel core i5 11400f

Asrock B560 pro Atx motherboard

16gb ddr4 3200mhz ram

Galax Rtx 2080 super(2nd hand)

Deepcool 750 watts gold psu

256gb nvme m.2 ssd

512gb nvme m.2 ssd

1tb wd blue hard disk

My main workload is gaming:- ALL latest AAA titles, I want a to maximize my gaming performance in AAA titles.

So what should I upgrade in my system.

I dont have the budget to upgrade everything as of right now.

I wouldn't. Your set up should be fine to run all current gen AAA titles. Are you finding anything that you are unhappy with currently in your set up? The 2080 could be upgraded to a 3070, but that is a $600 to $800 usd card at retail.

I find that your set up is great as it at the moment.

It would help if you gave your budget. Not giving that makes it basically impossible to make any kind of useful suggestion.

You also haven't listed what resolution or frame rate you're targeting.

I think your setup is doing just fine

Just a curiosity, what is your main storage for windows and game directory?

Is it 256GB NVME or 512?

If your main workload gaming are latest AAA, I would suggest upgrade storage capacity (not that it would improve FPS performance, just convenience of download & install some game if you're using 256GB) since newer games tend to require massive storage

And how about your CPU cooler? That is also an important factor if you wants to upgrade CPU in some other time in the future

P.S Intel i5 11400F is not a super power hungry and hot CPU, so it doesn't really need the best AIO/ Tower cooler, but anything is better than a stock cooler

My System: Ryzen 7800X3D // Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX // 32GB 6000MHz DDR5 Silicon Power Zenith CL30 // Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT OC with mod heatsink on the metal plate  // Phanteks P300A  // Gigabyte Aorus GEN4 7300 PCIE 4.0 NVME // Kingston NV2 Gen4 PCIE 4.0 NVME //

thanks for the great suggestions guys i have decided to run this system for 1 more year and save money right now.

My 256m.2 has the windows and 512m.2 has the games.

I am running the cpu currently on the stock cooler.

My goal is to get around 100 fps in 1440p resolution in high-ultra settings.
