MY PC IS TRASH

Go to solution Solved by tkitch,

Well, as I was trying to type in the other thread:

Those games are CPU Limited, and your CPU is absolutely the limit there.  Nothing's really gonna change that.

Your GPU is actually fine, as the RX 580 is still absolutely competent.

If you look for a used CPU/Board/RAM combo (Intel 7th-10th gen, or Ryzen 2000 or 3000 series) you'll see a HUUUUUGE boost overall.

HI ,i have a low-mid tier PC

im looking for some help . ive optimised my pc for gaming , and my pc exceeds the minimum to run the games i play , valorant, apex, wz.2.0,

i get micro stutters , frame drops , unstable gaming experience

i have a RX 580 gpu

FX-6300 6 core proccesor

16gb of ram 1866mhz which is running at those speeds via bios

Biostar A960D+ v.6 motherboard

1tb hhd ( next thing to get is SSD)

like i said not amazing but not terrible

i will be upgrading but right now i cant as life takes over

why am i struggling to run these games above 60fps  especially valorant and apex (with cod i have it dl but i dont dare try play it until i have these titles runnign correctly) althought i have the reccomended specs to run cod from there website

any help on how to get my games running smoother at a higher frame rate will be highly apprieciated

What resolution are you trying to run at? The FX-6300 is not very good.

Your mechanical hard drive isn't helping.

I'd get an SSD and do a clean install of Windows on that. When you upgrade in the hopefully not too distant future, you can take the SSD with you.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

thats the plan , do u think this will help resolve the stutter as my task manager shows no bottlenecks my gpu sits around 40-50 percent which personally i think it should be used more in certain games and i cpu is taking the load ?

When you're playing games that use the CPU a bunch (such as apex and valorant) your GPU is rather likely to not be fully used.

So, other than cleaning up cycles in the background, you can't do anything to make your PC much faster.

FX-6300 is literal trash.

Nothing short of a platform (motherboard+CPU) upgrade will really cure your ills.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

In general terms, your CPU is absolute garbage. It was shit when it came out in 2012 and is even more shit now ( There is no way to put this nicely )  The entire FX lineup was not very good at all.

what mother board and cpu will be compatible with my other components ? any ideas

Effectively you'll only be carrying over the graphics card and the storage drive. RAM really needs to be replaced too because nothing worth buying now still uses DDR3.

No, the FX line of CPUs were an absolute dumpster fire of a product, just all around bad, even when they first came out, and that was 11 years ago. And it was bad enough for a class action lawsuit and AMD having to pay out money to original purchasers.

The only way you're going to improve the system in a positive way without doing a whole new computer is a CPU,Mobo, Ram combo and doing a full platform upgrade. Go with AM4 or 10th or 11th Gen Intel, you can get them for fairly cheap these days.

If you want to improve your system on the cheap without doing such a major upgrade, an SSD will help a ton with load times and some stutter but getting rid of that god awful 6300 should be your top priority.

if i was for example to pick up a ddr4 board backwards compatibility is a thing right so i could use my ddr3 ram for temp use?

No. There is no backwards compatibility with RAM. You can't even fit DDR4 memory in a DDR3 slot or vice versa.

everyone is right u need to upgrade the cpu/ram/mobo... i think even a 10th or 11th gen i3 would be a huge upgrade, and those are fairly cheap (someone correct me if im wrong)
