Thoughts on my build

I see you put only 1 RAM stick. Single Channel decreases the performance a lot on Ryzen platforms.

Signle channel ram cripples performance on modern cpu's you need 2 sticks. Can have a 15-80% performance impact in games.

 

At this budget intel 13th gen should really be looked at or even 12th gen as both are faster and absolutly fit in the budget.

 

Expensive case that has poor airflow savinf there can give you a much better pc.

Idk what your budget is but looks close to 1000 so heres a build for 1000

 

Gpu used obviously, 3080 and 6900xt cost the same (550€) on ebay so depends on if you want nvidias features + ray tracing or raw performance

oh i already have the gpu, i just wanted to see what i could improve on it, whats the best pair with my cpu?

like fps? bc with the pc ive seen extremely long booting times and starting up apps and anything related to opening stuff, also whats the fps gain if i have 2 sticks?

Depends on the game, in some cases double or more

Dual channel affects the stuff you mentioned, but even without it, doing that from an SSD with a Ryzen and enough RAM everything should be snappy.

Latest Chipset drivers downloaded from AMD?

XMP (DOCP) loaded in the Bios?

The OS installed on the SSD and not on a HDD?

Enough free space on the SSD (at least 20%)?

SSD health good (Hard Disk Sentinel)?

 

Edit: wait, didn't we already talk about your system, the single channel ram and the slow opening of stuff?

woah, thats like really old games right? i play rocket league, warzone 2, star wars the old republic, rainbow six siege, whats the performance increase u think in each game?

latest bios

idk about chipset but i download and installed everything from the mobo support site so most likely

XMP i havent checked, where would that be in bios? but i think i enqbled it on first boot

OS is installed on my NVME (3gb read, 1gb write)

about 22% free on the disk, but hard to do since its 250gb, sometimes it goes to 7% left

didnt check SSD health yet, do i use christaldiskmark?

yes we did talk about it, but after all the fixes u sent it stil didnt work (grey screen and flickering still occuring) , but this time i shared entire build (case is different but not found on site, i am willing to spend more on the pc, so beside an extra stick of ram i wanna see what i can improve, most likely gonna get the lexar nvme as listed above)

Really old games aren't really ram intensive like todays games, so I'm talking about within the last 7+ years till today

If you've downloaded from the website of the motherboard, congrats, you have extremeljy old chipset drivers.

Don't let the SSD fil lthat much. Move the downloads folder to the other drive, maybe the documents folder too, use Disk Cleanup to free space, ...

As for the health, you can use CrystalDiskInfo (not CrystalDiskMark), but I recommend Hard Disk Sentinel.

yes ram is running 1600, and ill get the chipset drivers, btw, what is chipset? god i sound like such a newbie

oh and some extra info, sometimes when playing a game and watching youtube, the screen (especialy taskbar and youtube) looks like a folded courtain (idk how to explain else, like the ridges when you unfold something, like stripes) show up on the screen that are a tad bit darker, and my entire display starts flickering very fast between dark and a bit lighter

Cant say definitively, I've personally never played those, however nonmatter what  it will be an obvious improvement, will that improvement be 20 fps? in some yes, in some no, in others way more than 20

Consider the chipset as a controller that coordinates the communication between the different parts on the motherboard, the parts you add into the system and the peripherals.

Years ago it consisted of a southbridge, northbridge and memory controller. In the recent years the memory controller moved to the CPU and the NB/SB became one.

Check your monitor settings (in the monitors, not in windows), disable any power saving modes, dynamic contrast, Eco modes, interpolation...

Make sure all the displays are using the highest resolution they can and the max refresh rates.

try with different display cables.

yes i have done this, i unfortunatly do not have another displayport cable, the thing i it did this on my laptop too (connected via displayport with a DP to MiniDP adapter, adapter not faulty) and this issue was so severe it caused BURN IN (monitor is IPS), fortnunatly it coud fade away, whenever closing youtube and the game it would calm down, after a restart it would be completely gonae, the thing is, when toucheing the screen of the monitor while its happening the monitor is extremely hot, the power cable of said monitor is connected to a bar with multiple plugs

Wait, the monitor did that without the PC even being connected?! Then that is not the PC issue, it's the cable or the monitor itself!

i did not mention the monitor not being conected to the pc, it wa conected to the pc and previously conected to laptop, the laptop and pc both have ryzen processors, when doing the exact same thing on the pc (gaming with youtube) it does not do this, it only hapened once when starting an old game and very lightly, also, youtube was open on my LAPTOP screen, not monitor i was talking about, yet it caused burn in on the main monitor (only happened while playing minecraft for some reason) so my guess is laptop was faulty (had to rma it multiple times before this issue)
