3060ti horribly underproforming

I have an MSI triple fan 3060ti and it is locked at 3.1GB of dedicated memory out of 8.0GB and I have never seen it go above that, and I did a furmark stress test and it was at 0.8GB but 100% utilization. While playing Assetto Corsa it was averaging 88 fps and at 2.9GB of dedicated memory, utilization was in the 90’s and would randomly dip down to the 50’s.

 

Build List:

CPU: i5-11600k

GPU: MSI 3x 3060ti

PSU: Gamdias 600 80+ gold

MOBO: Asus Prime B560-Plus AC HES

CPU Cooler: Skytech single fan radiator

SSD: 500GB WD Blue SATA

Case: Thermaltake H200

yeah I’d try looking at display settings a 3060ti shoud be able to do 1440p 60fps+/- and 4k at around 40-50fps+/- (depends on what game you’re playing)
I’d also check to see if there are any driver updates to the gpu or directX

You haven't given us a resolution or the settings you're playing at, so it's hard to make a judgement for performance here... 

This low amount of memory usage makes sense, Assetto Corsa isn't that demanding of a game when it comes to texture sizes so that's pretty normal. 

I see this exact card hitting 144 FPS at 1440p Ultra on YouTube so underperforming to this extent wouldn't make sense unless you were pushing 4K.

 

Could we get some extra info?

Run 3DMark firestrike and timespy and let us know your scores so we could compare to similar systems and see if yours is underperforming.

 

Btw it's normal for 1080p not to use 8GB of VRAM.

I can add info, sorry. I am playing at 1080p on almost max settings. And for COD I am at mid settings and getting about 80-100 fps. Also in Nvidia control panel I have put my slider at balanced instead of quality or performance.

I am on 22h2, I have not tried running InSpectre and disabling it and ReSizable BAR is enabled and the GPU has responded from when I had it off before

Ok, do InSpectre and disable MPO.

Install CPUBalance and have it run while gaming.

So I did everything and I got 11,000 on timespy and 23,490 on fire strike. ( 50 point increase on timespy and 3,853 point increase on fire strike )

Still a bit under in Timespy but way closer to what it should be in Firestrike.

How are the games performing?

Honestly his system is fine.
This seems to be a misunderstanding that a GPU doesn't use all the memory just because.
If you want to push your GPU memory usage just increase all the textures in-game settings in CoD. 
Your fps will tank but you will see you r GPU memory usage go up (there is a bar that gives an estimate)

It is not. If a system has lower scores or framerates than most other systems with that or similar hardware, the root cause should be found. Has nothing to do with vRAM usage.

Like I said the system doesn't use it just because.
if he bumps his textures etc up he will see vRAM usage go up (and FPS go down).

His timespy score isn't anything to obsess about.  They include OC results.
AVERAGE SCORE 11,000.  
HIGHEST SCORE 15062.
So many will be at STOCK,
Then quite a few at daily OC settings.
Then you have the outliers bumping the scores up even further.

If you did want to help you might want to ask what his RAM is and what it is running at

I guess you skipped my second answer in the thread. "Btw it's normal for 1080p not to use 8GB of VRAM."

 

We did improve his 3DMark scores just by doing 2-3 normal things, and that's also fine.

I have 48 gigs (2x8) and (2x16) of 3200mhz ram

Games are preforming about 12 fps better, still not 144 lock but about 100-144
