Silverstone NT06-Pro CPU Cooler Review - Not what I expected...

Anthony10

So I really had no options except this because of the limited height clearance in my case (Silverstone RVZ01). I do my reviews by doing a brief summary of my experience, then a pros and cons list.

Summary:

This thing was a bitch to put in. The mounting mechanism is horrible! The directions are just as terrible! I'm not even sure if I used the right screws or not!!

Anyway, if you can get past that, then you're still screwed, I put a NF-F12, a 25mm thick fan in, and replaced their included what I think is a 15mm thick fan. Maybe it's just my ITX motherboard, but fitting this was not something I recommend.I bent atleast 10 fins on the heatsink and scratch the rubber on the noctua fans like crazy to fit this in. It is right up against many things on my motherboard. Was a pain to fit in.

After that, it is a nice quiet cooler that keeps my temps around the same as my 212 EVO did in my other case (30C-35C idle, 4670k stock speeds). I do not recommend buying this if you have more clearance, as I paid around $75 for the NF-F12 and the heatsink, unfortunately this is the best cooler that fits in my super small chassis.

Pros:

-Fits in small cases

-Relatively good temperatures on my CPU

-Quiet with an NF-F12, I have not tried the stock fan

-Compatible with most sockets

-Sort of does not have issues with RAM clearance, depends on your motherboard

Cons:

-Terrible Mounting Mechanism

-Terrible hard to understand directions

-Does not fit very well on my ITX motherboard

-High price

Feel free to post any questions, I will follow this thread so I get notified when someone comments.

TL;DR: you should read the whole thing... but to sum it up DO NOT BUY IT unless you have a real low CPU cooler clearance. It would be better just to get an NH-D14 for the price.
