Multi-monitor setup question

I've heard of pc wake issues with having two monitors with different connections to the PC. Which of these combos would be the best/have the least issues?
- 1x VGA, 1x DP

- 1x VGA, 1x HDMI

- 1x DVI-D, 1 x HDMI

- 1x DVI-D, 1x DP

My graphics card has 3x DP, 1x HDMI, and 1x DVI-D. The monitor I'm looking to add has 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x D-sub, 1x HDMI 1.4. The current monitor only has 1x DVI-D and 1x VGA.

Thanks!

i have had multiple monitors using all different types of connections (including usb converters) for years and never once have I encountered a 'wake problem' caused by a monitor.

that's just my experience though.

I would say, use whatever connections you have available and if you have problems you can change it.

I have the 4 th option (hdmi and dvi) and never had any issue and btw i never heard anybody having issues related to wake bcz they use two differant type of cables. There is issue with some boards thunderbolt (mainly asus but i think they fixed it)

I would personally avoid anything that uses analog signaling purely due to quality loses.

I got 2x DVI-D monitors connected via DP adaptors and 1x DP monitor. Never experienced the issue you are talking about.

Ok, thanks!

The wake issues I read about were the PC not detecting the second monitor at first and pushing all the windows to the first monitor every time it resumed from sleep.  But don't have an article or anything about it

Thanks -- by analog you mean VGA, right (out of the options that I listed)? Are the adapters because your graphics card doesn't have DVI-D?

Yeah, avoid DVI-I and VGA. Also yes, I use adapters because no new graphics card has DVI nowadays.
