Enable virtualization in your BIOS.

ok I will enable it

Yeah i had this same error, enabling virtualisation in the BIOS and disabling the Windows Hyper-V stuff worked for me.

For BIOS check manual or google to where the Virtualisation setting is.
As for Hyper-V this link should explain better then i can. 🙂

TLDR:

Def enable virtualization and also you want to increase the video memory available to the virtualized OS, so that you will be able to use it. Also make sure 3d acceleration is enabled. Good luck playing with VMs!

  • 1 month later...

On a side note, wasn't it possible in the past to run vbox with virtualization turned off albeit just slower?

I believe you can if you configure the VM to use no acceleration, but... the "slower" is such as to be completely unusable.
