Question about Ryzen 5 5600x

daphy

I'm planning to build a PC and my processor choice is Ryzen 5 5600x, will the performance of it be strong enough to last atleast 3 years from now?

Depends, what will the pc be used for? What resolution?

And a question - why the 5600X and not the cheaper but same-performing 5600?

hold up, is the only difference between X and non X version that the X version has unlocked multiplier?

because I looked at benchmarks and these CPUs are usually apart with about 1-3fps but mostly 1

The non-X is also unlocked. The difference is just in out-of-the-box clocks.

well the 0,2Ghz doesn't look like much in non productive programs, and in productivity programs it isn't a great boost either...

It really isn't, especially consider that you can just toggle on PBO + AutoOC to get the X CPU performance on B and X series boards. There is almost no reason to go with the X unless the price delta is negligible.

if I were to buy one I'd spend 37$ more, which is quite much for someone like me who is a student so the income is basically non existant..

I'd say the 5600X is probably worth $5-10 over the non-X if you want that extra performance since you don't need to bother with stability testing an OC. But yeah, it's not worth $30+ more.

I mean it would be worth, but not at this moment, but honestly with a cheap B450 board anything faster than 5600x would require a better MB

so not much to think in more expensive CPUs
