Thermaltake Tower 500 Madness!

Hi guys,

 

Has anyone here done a build in a Tower 500, specifically with a water cooled loop as its driving me crazy?

 

I bought one about a month ago and my 1st loop attempt had 3 x 240 rads with the bottom rad mounted in the default position (on its side, with 2 x 120mm fans as front intakes)

 

After the build was complete, I wasn't entirely happy with the balance of the pipes so I went back to the drawing board and rotated the bottom rad 90 degrees so it was laying flat, now intaking directly from the bottom of the case.

 

The bottom rad secures to a mount that can be orientated either against the front or base of the case.

 

The issue I have is, as far as I can see, when the mount is left in its default position, it acts as a resting plate for the floor of the main compartment with screw holes lining up for extra protection. However, when you rotate the bottom rad bracket, the mount can't be used for floor support rendering the floor unusable.

 

Thankfully, I have a Dremel so managed to hack apart one of the HDD cadies to the rear of the case and make my own support bracket.

 

Can anyone comment on this?

If you got room for cross flow rads use them it can make the loop simpler to run.
