Just want to know your opinion on whether or not I should sell them. Without thinking about price.

The people who need it fall into one of two categories: the desperately poor just trying to scrape *anything* that can work, and the just plain desperate: a sysadmin trying to standup the machine that's been running the manufacturing line for the past 15 years or a scientist scrambling to find a part to fix the controller unit on a wildly expensive piece of scientific gear that hasn't been made for 20 years and the original company has been out of business since 2011. I know this because I've been all three

 

In the first case, it's always nice to reward the hustle, in the second case, sure, you can charge 1000% more than market value (lots of those systems like *very* specific specs), but you're sitting on it for ages. Best thing to do is pass it off to some local tech rehabber

These dimms? Definitely not. Standard DDR3 is going for cheap. At least $3 per 4gb dimm. Even less for ECC.

....for some reason I thought it was DDR2. my bad 😛

I think it all comes down to price.

Right now it's worth not too much because it's not retro and it's not modern...

Will DDR3 platform ever become retro, I wonder.

Sure. 

 

Is it going to give you a lot of money? 

Probably not. So if you were a business you might want to dedicate resources elsewhere unless you had nothing else to do. 

 

If you have time or like making a few extra bucks, go for it. $10 is $10. 

(Double check value before selling so you get value)
